Natural Fibers consists of many plant based fibers aside from our primary wool and silk.

SUNPAT - A fiberous plant grown in the lower hills of the Himalayan region. Traditionally used by the villagers to make ropes and mats, this unique fiber has proved exceptionally suitable for hand woven carpets. Extremely durable and with a natural sheen, the fiber has only recently been developed since the plant has not been abundantly available. Many stages of producing the actual fiber are needed before the plant is ready for weaving - a local secret to the few who know. The Nepali call the plant Sunapat. We know of no identical plant found anywhere else in Nepal.

Other fibers used include: Hemp, Allo, Yak Wool, Cashmere, and Blue Flower. Blue Flower is a quality introduced and developed by Mike Marcy, consists of twilled raw silk, linen, and hand carded Tibetan Wool. We have a Natural Fiber collection brochure which explains the journey plants take on their way to becoming a fiber which is available to send out per your request.

Noreen Seabrook does not use or recommend highly processed yarns such as Viscose, Banana Silk, Cactus Silk, or Soya Bean Silk. These exclusions are based on factors inconsistent with Noreen Seabrook using only the finest and safest fibers.
